察看；检验。 2.清朝铨选的一种制度。吏部所选的官员，先由特派的王公大臣传见，以考察其年力是否胜任。清代候补、候选人员，赴部引见，由点派的王公大臣或九卿科道接见，察视其年貌状态。
向来外省验看截取举人，率多沿袭故套，不能实心澄汰。
